Not to seem ungrateful, but sometimes there can be too much of a good thing.

I’ll admit to going through a bit of an anal sex fetishization phase.

It’s a confluence of circumstances. Factor one: my wife has the most fantastic ass you could ever imagine; you would have to be insane not to lust after it. Factor two: her ass has, until recently, been entirely off limits, but over the past months, she’d tried to make it a little more ‘sexually accessible’ to me .. so the effort to get past this block is incredibly sexy. And factor three: literally every place you look now for sexual information and titillation is celebrating this as the ‘moment of the ass.’ Anal sex is everywhere!

For a while, I was digging this mainstreaming of ass play. It felt that anal sex had moved from this taboo, a somewhat violent practice that was ‘done’ to a woman by a man, into simply another way to derive sexual pleasure. Movies like Babysitting the Baumgartners — a porn, albeit a ‘good’ one — were showing how anal sex could be gently and lovingly explored. Even more mainstream sitcoms were making more and more references to butt sex.

So … all was going great. Anal sex was coming into the mainstream, and my wife — and girlfriend — were starting to open their minds (and other parts) to the possibility that this could be part…
