Was Your Summer a Sexy On?

And if not… how to get sexy back on the agenda for fall.

Summers are supposed to be sunny and sexy. The hot fun, days on the beach sipping wine, long evenings on the back deck — it’s all supposed to be a recipe for long sexy evenings.

But things don’t always turn out that way. More and more, I’m hearing stories from people that even though their summers are nice, sex seems to take a back seat.

What the heck is going on? Why has summer lost its sexual allure?

I’m going to posit three reasons for this un-sexiness that people seem to be feeling during the summer months:

  1. We let ourselves get too busy — it feels that everyone, these days, tries to cram so much into the short, short summers. We visit families, go on vacations, see friends who we’ve ignored for too long, take on project around the house or cottages. It’s a lot.
  2. We eat and drink way too much. I love to indulge a bit in the summer. bubbly on the dock, nice dinner with a little red, aperitifs to cap it off — repeat, repeat, repeat. This is great, except that it often feels you leaving anything but sexy by the end of the night.
  3. I love my family, but… they sure seem to be around a lot during the summer. They come home from school, they visit, they invite you over — they’re everywhere. And despite what step mom porn would have us believe, nothing kills that sexy vibe like family.
