Could You Be Getting More Use from your Lingerie?

It’s not just for underwear anymore.

Out with another couple the other night, I was thrilled to see that my wife and her friend had each chosen to wear one of my all-time favorite looks — tight, torn jeans and a lingerie corsette. I find that to be a super sexy look, bordering on indiscreet, but still within the margins of the acceptable. I love it.

It made me think of a fun article I read the other day that listed creative uses for lingerie. Granted, it was an advertisement for a lingerie company, but it did prompt me to think about how far we’ve evolved in our use of lingerie.

If you are thinking of amping up the sexiness you project out into the world, maybe consider a few of these looks for the next time you go out. I will say that my wife, an attractive middle-aged professional, wears each of these types of outfits regularly and feels comfortable and appropriate as she wears them:

• A lacy bra with a sheer top over it. She’ll usually opt for a black bra with lots of lace and a black, see-through top over it. You can see the bra and appreciate the sexy look, but the sheer top shadows the look and gives it a refined, thoughtful vibe. I love this look with either jeans or a pair of dressier pants.
