Being the United States of America is Hard

… the tough haul, as problem solver for the world.

Its easy to be cynical about the US. As we all deal with our Trump PTSD, we’re all still quick to recall their bullying, nationalism, rebuking of virtually every international norm and organization, and overall assholery.

But this facile representation glosses over the amazing responsibility held by the US, and it can can cause us to overlook the amazingly important place the US plays in the world order, global stability and the alleviation of global woes.
